A Valentine to Mexico

Published by jeff at 10:28 am under Birding, Central America, Photography, Travel, butterflies & moths

Dear Mexico,

We’ve been seeing a lot of each other recently and I have to say, I’m more than a little smitten.

Dogs and Virgin, San Felipe del Agua, Oaxaca

I love the way you combine the transcendent with the ordinary.

Sierra Madre

I love the way you keep your secrets, revealing them so slowly.

Shopkeeper, San Felipe del Agua, Oaxaca

I love the warmth and dignity of your people.

Violet washed something-or-other

And of course, I love the marvelous array of life you hold in your big, strong, gentle hands.

Will you be mine?

Love,

Jeff

Very nice, Jeff. I haven’t traveled there since my high school days, but I do have some fond memories of old Mexico.

As I have said before, 90 countries and 6 continents later – Mexico remains my favorite place on earth. The valentine’s tribute is fitting and you’ve so beautifully captured the poetry of Mexico. Now…..let’s keep this a little secret.

What a sexy, wonderful post. We are so blessed to have such riches just a drive away from Tejas. The backlit man with hibiscus is killer.
