Skywatch Friday: Bentsen Sunset

I have to admit, this Skywatch Friday business is pretty addictive. Pretty pictures, not too many words, lots of friendly visitors…I’m enjoying it. Hope you are, too.

Above is a photo from April of 2008 taken from the boat ramp at Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park near Mission, Texas, U.S.A. Liz and I were there leading a team of young birders scouting for the Great Texas Birding Classic competition.

    Addictive indeed :-) An exotic skywatch you have and a whole different picture in bird migration than the one whe have over here in Flanders I guess. Makes me curious.

    I agree about this being addictive. I’m in no hurry to get a cure though. I am enjoying this run myself. Love everything about your photo. Come and visit my entry too. I dont think you’ve been over my blog yet.

    This makes me think of my in-laws who have both passed on, but surely loved Texas and wintered down there, including around Mission.

    I have sweet memories of those palm trees and the beautiful water…

    Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo, and for the lovely memories it’s brought back to me.

    great sky with the palms..
    I am fairly new to skywatch and have been loving the heck out of it..

    but I have gotten a few comments where people have said…I Love SWF..well I thought they mean Single White Female..ahhhaa..then it clicked…LOL

    Beautiful shot, Jeff. I agree — SkyWatch is certainly addictive.

    Sure have enjoyed all the wonderful pictures and stories from the RGVBF, both here and on several other blogs. I’m going to have to make it down for that festival one of these years!
