Where was I?
I went on a trip from Friday through Sunday. It wasn’t an especially distant journey–in fact, I didn’t leave the Delmarva Peninsula. So where was I? Here’s a clue:
Here are two more, one an overview, the other a close-up.
This one should be a dead giveaway:
Let’s see: cotton fields, sea oats, and a marsh-side pony, all on the Delmarva Peninsula–could only be the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Yes, they have ponies on Assateague in Maryland, but I don’t believe they have sea oats. And if they grow cotton, I’ve never seen it. Let me know in the comments if I’ve misstated something.
I went down for the 16th annual Eastern Shore Birding & Wildlife Festival.
It was a very enjoyable trip, one that left me feeling like I’d traveled a good deal farther away than the car’s odometer said I had. I’ll have more to say and to show in subsequent posts.
