Prime Hook Evening

Published by jeff at 12:56 am under Photography,Slower Delaware

I spent a couple of hours photographing in the Prime Hook Beach/Fowler Beach region this evening. Though I got a couple of OK bird photos, I was happiest with these. If they share a theme, perhaps it’s that they all feature plants in various stages of domestication. Or maybe it’s just the late summer light.

Drought corn

Corn, withering in our ever-intensifying drought

Foxtail grasses–these reminded me of a school of tropical fish

Not sure what this flower is–ironweed? In any event, a lovely perch for a Tiger Swallowtail.

I embarrassed to say I don’t know if these bales are hay or straw, but I thought they looked cool rising from the soy.
